Who June is

June Hartwell is the pen name of Hearth & Penny's founder, who develops and cooks every Kitchen-tested recipe. June's family stories are written with AI assistance and checked by June for accuracy; names and places are changed.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft recipes, estimate costs and create some images and short cooking clips. AI never publishes anything. Every recipe is checked by a person for accuracy, food safety and cost before it goes up.

• Images and video made with AI are labeled "AI-generated."
• AI helps write June's family stories. June checks each one is true before it's published; names and places are changed.
• The Kitchen-tested badge means June cooked the recipe. Recipes without it have been reviewed but not yet cooked.
• Nutrition figures are estimates calculated from USDA data.

Corrections

If something in a recipe doesn't work, tell us and we'll fix it and note the change.
